Lorenzo’s House is in the hilltop hamlet of Rachi above Kioni and has one of the best vantage positions with magnificent views across the sea to the islands of Lefkas, Meganissi, Atokos, Kastos, Arkoudi and the Greek mainland.
The owner of Lorenzo’s House, an architect from Rome, has renovated the traditional village house to outwardly preserve a simple style and has opened up and re-designed the interiors to create a beautiful and comfortable home.
The sitting room, with a high vaulted ceiling, and bedrooms lead to sea-facing terraces bordered by jasmine, lavender, olive and lemon trees. One of the terraces incorporates an attractive barbecue area.
The hamlet of Rachi has one minimarket, a walk of two minutes from the house. The walk to Kioni takes fifteen minutes but the walk back up the hill, especially in hot weather, will require stop-offs in the shade of an olive.
We recommend hiring a car for ease of access to Kioni and the beaches within the bay or one can rely on the limited taxi service. The beach of Mavrounas is a walk of fifteen minutes downhill and is close to the fishermen’s church of Agios Ioannis.
