Oia has many traditional taverns and restaurants for your enjoyment and paved alleys with boutiques and small shops It is a good place from which to explore the rest of the island and you can rent both cars or motorcycles in the village or use the buses that criss-cross the island. Discover the unique geological landscape of this spectacular volcanic island, its vineyards and the crystal clear water of its beaches. Take an excursion on foot or with a donkey and visit the cliff houses of Fira, the archaeological site of Akrotiri, or a trip around the volcano by caique. The houses of the ancient Santorinians are natural caves, basically, excavated during the centuries by the strong winds hitting the cliff face made of vulnerable volcanic soil. Around a hundred steps lead down from the main alley of Oia to reach Casa Sofia. This traditional village house has been restored in the traditional cave style. Furnished with taste, but also fully equipped with modern bathrooms and small kitchens. Neutral colours have been used to decorate the bedrooms and living rooms, to allow the charm of the furniture to shine and provide a feeling of elegance which we believe is essential. The Studio: one double bed, small fully equipped kitchen, private shower room, small private veranda overlooking the sea and the caldera, beautiful view of the volcano and the traditional village of Oia.
