Italy only became one nation at the end of the 19th Century and the regions for Centuries had been the centre of power. The capital of each region therefore had enormous importance and these regional cities such as Turin, Bologna, Florence, Palermo owe their impressive architecture to the fact they were each capital cities in their own right rivalling their neighbours.

Each city in Italy has its own style, seperate history, culture, charm and cuisine. A visit to one of these cities is a fabulous way to change environment. A Hotel never allows that change to happen, a rental house does. From the moment you get your front door key, or go shopping at the market you start to feel like a true resident. 

Although the main offices of House of Wonders have been in Bologna Italy for over a decade, we are just now pulling together the portfolio of houses that we have throughout Italy as suprisingly Italy was not one of the destinations we dealt with in the early days of the Company
