Holiday in Italy - Northern Mountain

PDF Print E-mail

There is scarcely a place in Italy that has remained untouched by the waves of history, art, folklore and culinary tradition, where a visit does not afford a chance for reflection or even simple pleasure.

To the North in the heart of the Alps is the area of Trentino Alto Adige.  These mountains are very beautiful and in the valleys the traditional villages are testimony to centuries of combat against nature on these important trade routes between the the North of Europe and the South. With its natural beauty opportunities for recreation, relaxation, sport and artistic and historic itineraries, Trentino has much to offer: discovering it is easy and pleasant.

To the West is the Valle D’Aosta, a vertical region for the many high peaks that surround it (including Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe at 4,807 metres). A surprising concentration, in a region of such reduced dimensions, of so many natural splendours, so many monuments, so much precious historic and artistic heritage: Courmayer and Breuil-Cervinia are the most famous.

To the East is the Veneto area that stretches behind Venice, and its landscape does not just consist of the sea. The mountains of the Veneto have a rare beauty. The Dolomites seen from Cortina d'Ampezzo, the famous and most exclusive Italian mountain resort in the province of Belluno, are a fabulous spectacle.
