Val di Gresta is just a few miles as the crow flies from the Garda Lake. The mild climate influenced by the lake made this a rich agriculture area which in turn led to the development of civilisation from an early age. The landscape is rich with historic villages, medieval ruins, churches any ancient thouroughfairs through the wooded hills and mountains. Today the Ronzo-Chienis, the main town in the valley is famous for its organic farms and beautiful hillside walks in this valley which is like a giant terraced amphitheatre. In the heart of Ronzo-Chienis, Casa Chiena is a traditional house, but in line with the phylosophy of the valley it has been completely restored using energy saving and ecological techniques and the finest materials and furnishings.
