Diani Beach, South Coast

Alfajiri Beach Villa and Garden Villa overlook the Indian Ocean and the elevated position ensures privacy and stunning views.

Large main verandah under a massive makuti roof, ocra Danish floors, wooden beams, Lamu doors and impressive artifacts all reflect the outstanding attention to detail and high standard of interior design. Most of the furniture is made in the family-run workshop. The gardens are meticulously maintained and include many palms from the villa’s nursery.

The Garden and Beach Villas share a spacious central terrace area with swimming pool and bar. On request guests in Garden Villa can have their meals privately on their verandah overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Diani Beach is considered one of  the best in Kenya and it is possible to walk for 5 miles to the north and 5 miles to the south.

ACCOMMODATION - BEACH VILLA
2 luxuriously-appointed double bedrooms with their own bathrooms. One of them overlooks the Indian Ocean, and the other the "infinity" swimming pool.  2 additional rooms a level up, right under the makuti roof, provide exciting accommodation, though for children only. Please note there is no bathroom at this level, so children would share one of the 2 bathrooms below.  All rooms have mosquito netting but NO air conditioning system.

ACCOMMODATION - GARDEN VILLA
8 guests can be accommodated in 4 large luxuriously-appointed double bedrooms each with their own large bathroom. All rooms overlook the Indian Ocean. The rooms are air-conditioned with split-level units and mosquito nets. All rooms have different interior decoration; the furniture and artifacts have been collected from different countries around the world.

SERVICE
Discreet service from 14 experienced staff as and when required. Alfajiri won the 2002 Harpers and Queen Award for the private villa providing the best service worldwide.

CUISINE
Fresh seafood is brought daily to order from the beach and includes some of the best crab, prawns, lobster, octopus and sea fish available. The food at Alfajiri Villas is very healthy with a Mediterranean influence. Oils, Parma ham and some cheeses are flown in weekly from Europe. The salads and fresh vegetables are supplied daily from local farms and the fruit is handpicked from trees and bushes around Diani. Wines: A choice of good quality South African and Italian wines is available.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDED
Snorkeling at the coral reef with local fishermen, using a traditional African boat;
Massage and reflexology;
Vehicle, with driver, available for local excursions within Diani Beach area;
Tennis, squash and a gym at a nearby property;
Golf, inclusive of green fees, caddies fees and clubs.

SEASONS
The house is open all year round. Keep in mind that May and June it could be windy.

Health insurance, gratuities, champagne & specific spirits and wines, deep-sea fishing, diving and diving courses, safari and excursions, guide accommodation.

Alfajiri Villas is equipped with reliable telephones, a fax machine and e-mail.

CHILDREN-FRIENDLY:

The house has been designed with children in mind. Two ayahs (nannies), who both speak English, are available 24 hours a day. Plenty of games are available and a TV and video, if needed. Alfajiri Beach Villa is the perfect place for families with small children who are looking for a relaxing time and to have their children well looked after, all in absolute privacy.

NOTE:

CLIMATE Diani has an excellent climate with little humidity from September to March. There is a continuous off or onshore breeze.

The East African coast is a malarial area and prophylactics are recommended. A doctor is on 24-hour call and a well-equipped private hospital is less than a kilometer away. As with all destinations in Africa, clear medical advice is required from your doctor & comprehensive medical insurance is strongly advised.
